Is there some legend of what each character of special chars mean?
I'm using ZMK and sometimes I get keys not as I planned and I want to tell what actually got pressed.

macOS has some built-in utilities you can use to better understand this for your particular keyboard layout. It's also possible that some of the built-in mappings are wrong for your locale/keyboard layout, but I would need more specific information in order to investigate, or you could look in the source code.
