Hi folks,
I like the new KeyCastr icon, kudos to @QuintB!
However, the purple shadow is not in line with Apple HIG.

Current icon / how it should look like:

The current menu bar icon looks kinda funny to me, so I've got a proposal:

I've also found out a spacing issue:

Hello @Zabriskije -- thanks for opening an issue. I'm pretty happy with the icon and especially how it changes illumination depending on whether KeyCastr is active. I'd prefer to keep it as-is unless it presents a problem such as clipping the shadow.

I don't quite understand the proposal regarding the spacing issue, although I agree the spacing isn't great. Could you please clarify?
