Hi firejailers,

i'm a total novice re your software. i just ran sudo firejailcfg and have been testing out if my apps all work. i'm running it on debian buster.

Qpdfview will launch happily, but when i try to open a file, the programme hangs and never recovers. No dialogue box opens. All other menu items work fine, including opening files from the recent files list.

No profile and disabling firejail
when I run /usr/bin/qpdfview', open file works fine, and when i run firejail -noprofile /usr/local/bin/qpdfview' or `firejail -noprofile qpdfview' (which i just discovered here and now), it also works fine.

Reproduce

  1. Run firejail qpdfview in bash
  2. hit ctrl-o or alt-f-o, or alternatively: ctrl-t or alt-f-t (open in new tab)
  3. hangs, no dialogue box appears, no new messages appear in the terman after running the command, even if running firejail --debug.

Environment
debian buster, up to date.
firejail version 0.9.58.2

qpdfview just installed through debian stable repos.
no appimage.
have searched for other issues here.

i hope i have provided enough info. i'm also surprised if i'm the only one having this issue, being so late to the party.

Original GitHub issue: https://github.com/netblue30/firejail/issues/4372 Hi firejailers, i'm a total novice re your software. i just ran sudo firejailcfg and have been testing out if my apps all work. i'm running it on debian buster. Qpdfview will launch happily, but when i try to open a file, the programme hangs and never recovers. No dialogue box opens. All other menu items work fine, including opening files from the recent files list. **No profile and disabling firejail** when I run `/usr/bin/qpdfview', open file works fine, and when i run `firejail -noprofile /usr/local/bin/qpdfview' or `firejail -noprofile qpdfview' (which i just discovered here and now), it also works fine. **Reproduce** 1. Run `firejail qpdfview` in bash 2. hit ctrl-o or alt-f-o, or alternatively: ctrl-t or alt-f-t (open in new tab) 3. hangs, no dialogue box appears, no new messages appear in the terman after running the command, even if running firejail --debug. **Environment** debian buster, up to date. firejail version 0.9.58.2 qpdfview just installed through debian stable repos. no appimage. have searched for   • The profile (and redirect profile if exists) hasn't already been fixed upstream.
  • I have performed a short search for similar issues (to avoid opening a duplicate).

There were some issues and commits about qpdfview which fixed things. Can you check if these fixed your issue.

Is anything in the syslog?
