Describe the bug
When typing (french) accented letters from my windows host, linux dosn't detect them either by typing directly "é" or "`a".
other special char dont work here is the exhaustive list :

  • § (needs shift)
  • ù
  • µ (needs shift)
  • £ (needs shift)
  • ¤ (needs alt)
  • ^ (alone [typed then space] : works, combined with letter to accent : nothing)
  • ¨ (needs shift)
  • ° (needs shift)
  • à
  • ç
  • è
  • ` (alone : works, combined with letter to accent : nothing)
  • ~ (alone : works, combined with letter to accent : nothing)
  • ²

Expected behavior
When key typed, should appear in text fields. Accents then letter should write the accented letter.

Desktop (please complete the following information):

  • Server OS : Windows 10 20H1
  • Client OS : Manjaro Linux (linux 5.9)
  • Barrier version 2.3.3

I get similar behaviour between a linux server and a windows client - unable to get Euro symbol (Alt Gr + 4) on the windows client machine. Using a UK keyboard layout.

  • Server OS : Linux Mint 20 Cinnamon
  • Client OS : Windows 10
  • Barrier version 2.3.2

similar story on a german layout, here's everything wrong i could find:

  • alt+2 gives nothing (should be ²)
  • alt+3 gives nothing (should be ³)
  • alt+6 gives ` (should be nothing)
  • alt+7 gives [ (should be { )
  • alt+0 gives ] (should be } )
  • alt+q gives ' (should be @)
  • alt+e gives nothing (should be €)
  • alt+m gives nothing (should be µ)
  • alt+< gives \ (should be | )
  • alt++ gives # (should be ~)
  • shift+^ gives nothing (should be °)
  • shift+'(next to backspace) gives nothing (should be `)

in my case it's fedora -> windows 10

I have a problem with Hebrew characters, they appear as question marks, I think it has the same or a similar root cause.
