I believe the issue might be Wayland. I have the same issue on manjaro. Solution is to use x.org. Does PureOS use Wayland by default? Barrier really needs to add Wayland support. It's the only app I use anymore that doesn't play nice with Wayland.
@shymega commented on GitHub (Jul 28, 2020):
Possibly Wayland. We can't add Wayland support just yet -- higher priorities such as the memory leaks.. but its on the roadmap! Apologies.
@shymega commented on GitHub (Jul 28, 2020):
Also, please use the template. We have that for a reason. What version are you using, what version of PureOS, and Windows?
@tiaan-za commented on GitHub (Jul 29, 2020):
windows 10
Pureos 9

Which version of Windows 10? i.e, build number. You can find that
out by running
winver.Please use the template in future, however. I still require further
information...

@Devorlon commented on GitHub (Jul 29, 2020):
I can confirm that at least that Wayland is the problem. Switched from it to Xorg and barrier started working again (Both keyboard and mouse previously not working).
Though when on Wayland barrier would still detect the cursor moving system's and would bring the (moved to) systems windows in focus.
@shymega commented on GitHub (Jul 29, 2020):
Barrier doesn't support Wayland, so that would be expected behaviour.
