Operating Systems

Server: Ubuntu-18.04.2 on VMware (host OS: Windows10)

Client: Ubuntu-18.04.2 on VMware (host OS: Windows10)

Barrier Version

2.3.1-snapshot-58d8f020

Steps to reproduce bug

  1. Run barrier server at Ubuntu on VMware. (PC_0)
  2. Run barrier client at Ubuntu on VMware. (PC_1)
  3. Check they're connected well then move server's mouse cursor to client screen.
  4. Cursor sticks to client screen's left edge

Other info

  • When did the problem start to occur? Always
  • Is there a way to work around it? No.
  • Does this bug prevent you from using Barrier entirely? No.

Stucked cursor can moves vertically along left edge
but its sensitivity becomes super high.
Mouse's horizontal move cannot make any difference of cursor's position.
However when I move mouse to server screen side,
cursor eventually enter the server screen.

Client screen locates left side of server screen.

Are you using GNOME on wayland? If-so, we don't have wayland support at this time.

Do you know if you're using wayland or X11?

I'm using default DE of Ubuntu 18.04.2.
So it would be GNOME isn't it?

Sorry, I meant wayland or X11 as the display server.

Oh, I misunderstood this question. Sorry.

I'm having the same issue on Arch Linux with Gnome DE (barrier client) and Windows running in the VM (barrier server), keyboard is shared and it's working as expected but mouse cannot be used, it is just shown at the bottom right edge of the screen.

I'm also using X11 as display server.

Looking into the information provided here it seems that VMware may give wrong display information to barrier (and other clients).
