Operating Systems
Ubuntu 18.04 (server) Windows 10 (client)
Barrier Version
2.2.0 (server) 2.1.0(client)
I had to factory reset my router and after barrier wasw not working. I figured this was because IPs were reassigned but i tried that but it did not resolve the issue.
I am able to get the 2 computers connected in the reverse configuration (windows 10 machine as server and ubuntu machine as clinet) without issue, but not the other way around how I had it running before.
I also notice when I try to remove and reinstall Barrier, it presers the info I had enterd (ip address and server configuration details) despite my best effort to remove Barrier completely before reinstalling.
Thanks in advance for any help!

This seems unrelated to barrier entirely.
@p12tic commented on GitHub (Jan 15, 2019):
@JunaAwas: You need to either enter new IP addresses to the Barrier config or update the router config with old information and force the computers to renew DHCP lease. Other than that, I agree with @AdrianKoshka, it's not related to Barrier per se.
@JunaAwas commented on GitHub (Jan 15, 2019):
@p12tic by Barrier config do you mean the GUI ? or is there a config file somewhere I can modify ?
I have entered the new correct IPs in the GUI on the client (the server does not ask for any IP address) before posting here, but that did not resolve the issue.
I dont see how this is unrelated to barrier, if I can get it to work in one direction but not the other (and also if i was able to get it working originally but it stopped after).
What about being able to uninstall the software and have all saved info be deleted ? is that possible? currently when I uninstall and re-install it preserves the IP addresses and server configuration I had entered before uninstalling.
@AdrianKoshka commented on GitHub (Jan 15, 2019):
Wait, I wonder if you have to add Barrier in the windows firewall again because of the network change (on your windows 10 server)
@JunaAwas commented on GitHub (Jan 15, 2019):
I actually have windows firewall disabled, but enabled it and tried this just incase. when I enabled the firewall Barrier stopped working even in the reverse direction but adding the exception fixed that. still not able to get it working in the direction I need though.
@JunaAwas commented on GitHub (Jan 16, 2019):
I tried aplying the information from this page : https://symless.com/help/s2-troubleshooting/s2-reinstall
and this succeded in getting a clean install of barrier on both machines, but still only can get the windows 10 machine to act as server and ubuntu machine as client.
I really dont want to reformat to resolve this issue but its looking like I dont have much other choice.
I will keep at it for a day or two but this weekend might try reintalling ubuntu.
Thanks for your help until this point

If I remember correctly our config path on a linux machine is
~/.config/barrier
