What CPU does your Surface tablet have? If it's ARM, then Windows ARM builds are a bit harder for projects to build right now due to the GitHub Windows ARM runner being beta.
By the way, please try Deskflow or Input Leap as Barrier is no longer in development.
https://github.com/deskflow/deskflow
https://github.com/input-leap/input-leap
Both are compatible with Barrier client/server so you can try on one of your computers.
If you need Windows ARM support in those projects, we would appreciate an issue being opened.
@l-d-g commented on GitHub (Mar 10, 2025):
I do not have the tablet yet. I'm more trying to see if what I want to do with it is a possibility and...it sounds like it may be if I can find something that doesn't have an ARM CPU (I don't know how possible that is).
I will also look into Deskflow and Input Leap! Barrier is still running great for me though.
@l-d-g commented on GitHub (Mar 11, 2025):
So just for my own, better, understanding: if I had a Surface with a non ARM CPU, would the integration be possible and... relatively fluid (as in similar to the wireless KVM scheme that I have now)?
@nbolton commented on GitHub (Mar 12, 2025):
If you're asking if Synergy/Deskflow-like programs work on a Surface, then yes if you have an AMD/Intel x64 CPU. However, ARM support is currently available for Linux.
That depends on your network connection.
@l-d-g commented on GitHub (Jun 23, 2025):
I've been looking at this off and on since I initially asked, but thought I might try a different approach: is there a tablet on the market that could be integrated with this type of software?On Mar 12, 2025 5:32 AM, Nick Bolton @.***> wrote:

This may be of interest: https://github.com/jglanz/deskflow-android
We're currently in the process of bringing it into the Deskflow GitHub org, so it'd be:
deskflow/deskflow-androidEdit: New WIP repo will be: https://github.com/deskflow/deskflow-android

So this would work with...any android tablet on the market now? On Jun 24, 2025 3:33 AM, Nick Bolton @.***> wrote:nbolton left a comment (debauchee/barrier#2117)

Hey guys, ive been disconnected for the holiday week. Yeah, i plan to migrate the android app to the deskflow org.
Fixing a couple of bugs that surfaced during the fdroid submission, but it should be available on fdroid within the week at the latest and play store soon enough.
Onve its all stable, the first thing i plan to do is move it into the org, so that the community can support it

Do you have a recommendation for an android based/non ipad tablet that this would work on?On Jul 5, 2025 3:14 PM, Jonathan Glanz @.***> wrote:jglanz left a comment (debauchee/barrier#2117)

I personally use a Samsung Tab S8 Ultra and it is AWESOME. I have it directly above my keyboard and I use it for music/video/tv etc while I'm working. Flawless.

Okay, because I'm cheap, do you happen to know how many generations back of the Samsung's stuff I could go and still have integration working?On Jul 5, 2025 5:45 PM, Jonathan Glanz @.***> wrote:jglanz left a comment (debauchee/barrier#2117)

@jglanz commented on GitHub (Jul 8, 2025):
@l-d-g The implementation requires the API level >= 34, which is Android 14; any 14+ device should work ;)

I'm looking at the last Pixel tablet that was released, but in the meantime, my Input Leap is having a lot of connectivity issues. Connects on start up and within five minutes, it's gone. On 3.0.2. Anything known or a way to get through it?On Jul 8, 2025 9:56 AM, Jonathan Glanz @.***> wrote:jglanz left a comment (debauchee/barrier#2117)

Not sure if this is the most recent message in the chain, but I wanted to mention that I now have a Pixel tablet and was wondering if Input Leap is compatible. The release page has a lot of links for Mac, Ubunto, and Windows (which I have it for and love, but the Pixel tablet was closer to what I wanted in general) but I didn't see one explicitly for this tablet.
