Really you should look into a VNC solution over KVM.

Yes it will work! (is the answer to your question).
But you will need someone at the other computer, to tell you where to move your mouse ;)
So the advice of Benmordecai is the answer you need.

We can only guess what u need, for example: Most remote desktop applications, should be a solution for the scenario you described, assuming you're not at the office yourself.
Try ChatGPT, it can figure out what you exactly need and provide you with a solution.

I mean... you can... just set up port forwarding, but I agree with everyone, you probably want VNC instead, because you won't be able to see your monitor from home otherwise.
