I'm using a macbook with spanish apple magic keyboard as a server to control a windows computer. In order to type square brackets I need to use the option + ^ keys. However on the windows machine the keystroke doesn't get recognized.

It works fine if I connect the keyboard directly to the Windows computer.

Do you have any suggestion on how to fix this?
