Before opening the issue, have you...?
Describe the issue
MacBook Pro (13-inch, M1, 2020) running macOS Monterey 12.4 is connected to new Dell 4K monitor via HDMI to dongle/adapter to USB-C. I am not a tech-savvy person at all but downloaded MonitorControl to be able to control my Dell monitor's brightness and sound from my mac keyboard. Issue is with sound. With a YouTube video in-browser or an mp3 song from iTunes/Music on the machine, the sound plays through the Dell monitor speakers in an extremely choppy and slow fashion and ultimately the sound doesn't play, or whatever bits of sound come out are not coherent or they lag. Any troubleshooting advice?
Have searched for existing issues potentially unsuccessfully and have read through the wiki -- do you think a DisplayPort connection/cable would be better than my current Dell-provided HDMI cord and hub/adaptor to USB-C (from amazon)?
(Also, my DDC/CI (not exactly sure what that is) on the Dell monitor itself is enabled/on, but I think that might not matter because my understanding is that Apple laptops don't work with that which is why I downloaded MonitorControl in the first place.)
Thanks
Expected behavior
Expected sound to play clearly.

Actually never mind. I kept the USB-C/HDMI cord plugged in and restarted the mac. And the sound is fine in terms of choppiness (sounds normal now). However, am still having the issue noted in another person's issue #1187 as are other users
