Question
I love MonitorControl and it works great albeit I don't understand why I need this tool.
It would help me, but just as much any other user to explain the limitations on macOS (?) that cause built-in volume/brightness controls not to work with external monitors.
@the0neyouseek commented on GitHub (Apr 29, 2022):
Hi @piejanssens
To answer your questions quite simply, it's not that it does not work or is a limitation, that it's just not a feature of macOS (unless using an Apple Display).
This app uses DDC commands and others alternative way to control an external display brightness and volume.
Sorry if the Readme didn't make that clear ! Have a nice day 😄
