Before opening the issue, have you...?
Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe
I have some homekit accessories and would like to be able to automate and sync brightness between physical lightbulbs and my monitor screens.
Describe the solution you'd like
It would be awesome to have controls at least over brightness exposed to Apple Shortcuts so that I could create an automation.
Describe alternatives you've considered
Alternatively there could be a hook the other way around to trigger homekit action from within MonitorControl but I believe it would be way more tricky to achieve.
Anything else?

There is some discussion about this https://github.com/MonitorControl/MonitorControl/discussions/682
Btw, there are command line tools for DDC control that can be integrated into Apple Shortcuts I think quite easily. for M1 there is m1ddc, for Intel you can use ddcctl.

I'd like to do something similar to pfilipp 👍

Upping this feature. As a user (and a great fan) of MonitorControl, I would love to add it to some sort automation like Shortcuts. The reason; living in the north with dark mornings in the winter, I prefer my external display to be quite dimmed when kicking off the day as I find it more comfortable. I now adjust my display manually to a low setting the night before.

This is planned in BetterDisplay - https://github.com/waydabber/BetterDisplay/issues/1395, not planned in MonitorControl.
