Before opening the issue, have you...?

  • Searched for existing issues

It would be great to have two or more presets for night and Day.
At night I like to dim the displays but in the morning I put them back up to full

Describe the solution you'd like

Ideally two buttons that can be activated via keyboard shortcuts for Day and Night

Even better each presset can be activated automatically at a given time of the day.

Describe alternatives you've considered

there is no alternative as far as I know

Anything else?

@waydabber commented on GitHub (Apr 5, 2026):

There are also various scheduling apps which can control apps with CLI (like BetterDisplay or Lunar). But I think Lunar by @alin23 has a very specific function for day/night cycle brightness. I don't think the scope of MonitorControl (as a simple app) should be expanded with further features like this - as many precisely choose MonitorControl because of lack of complexity (compared to BetterDisplay for example). :)
